John Wm. Macy's CheeseSticks came to life in 1984 in the kitchen of John's New York City apartment. Fulltime operations started the next year after John built the Company's first "factory" in a small storefront on the lower East Side of New York. Having outgrown the original location, CheeseSticks moved in 1990 to its present facility in northeastern New Jersey.

John concocted his spicy, twisted CheeseSticks during a ten-year catering career which started on Martha's Vineyard Island, migrated west to California and ultimately led him to New York City. His crunchy CheeseSticks were an instant hit and continually in demand.

What makes CheeseSticks taste so great? Freshly mixed sourdough, lots of grated aged cheese and just the right seasonings. We roll out the dough, fold it over the cheese like a blanket, and roll and refold it again and again.The multi-layered "sandwich" is cut in strips, twisted into shape, and baked twice for exceptional crispness and flavor.
